Yes, that is what I do. Another product that GReg Holzman has been experimenting with might be good too, but only if you feel like it. He uses Great Stuff. It is sold at HD to fill in cracks in houses and insulation in the walls. It is a foam and he says it keeps the rain from getting into the areas that he uses it on. He seals the wounds up first and then uses the Great Stuff after that.
