This means you can cut the stem down to any height and heal the wound up and there will be plants grow around the top ring, and at the base. The taller the stem the weaker it is to produce new offsets because it has to pump energy farther up. You could probably make 2000 new plants if you want to section the stem into 6 inch slices. If the apex is broken, but not damaged, you can take all the leaves off and make a clean cut and treat that and root it in just like an offset.
