Hi Tom,
the male one is so lazy that he even hadn´t form a cone this year so your good hints are unfortunately not practible this time :( . The female cone has a pedunle of
7cm, the cone is about 3cm long, 3 weeks to go I suggest. No way here in Europe to get pollen I regret. B.t.w., a Z.furfuracea is starting a cone as well and this year male pollen wasn´t produced in the cone - just the cone without pollen.
