Tom,
Since the board seems a little slow lately, may I continue my research? Anyway, I did not make an effort to pollenate the seeds so, What happens next? Will the "flower" die? Can I still expect a new flush this summer? (Have never gotten more than 1 flush per year).

: Tom, A little additional info. When
: I
: look inside of the
: "flower", I do see what
: look like seeds. Is that possible,
: since this is the first flower and
: all? or, Is it just that to see the
: seeds is normal, its just that they
: may not be fertile? If I should
: harvest the seeds I would like to
: know!
:
: Thanks again Tom

:You will see little green things at
: this stage. They are called ovules
: at this stage. If you look real
: close, in the morning, you might see
: a little moisture on the tip ends of
: each ovule. If pollen touches that
: moisture, when it drys up, it sucks
: the pollen into the ovule. Later, if
: they take, they will become large
: and orange. (about an inch and a
: half wide) This is one of the neat
: things about cycads, they have naked
: ovules like this on the cycas
: species, instead of being covered
: with fruit or something like that.
: I'd go out and find some pollen
: somewhere. It sounds like you would
: have fun watching it all happen.
