: Tom, A little additional info. When I
: look inside of the
: "flower", I do see what
: look like seeds. Is that possible,
: since this is the first flower and
: all? or, Is it just that to see the
: seeds is normal, its just that they
: may not be fertile? If I should
: harvest the seeds I would like to
: know!
:
: Thanks again Tom

:You will see little green things at this stage. They are called ovules at this stage. If you look real close, in the morning, you might see a little moisture on the tip ends of each ovule. If pollen touches that moisture, when it drys up, it sucks the pollen into the ovule. Later, if they take, they will become large and orange. (about an inch and a half wide) This is one of the neat things about cycads, they have naked ovules like this on the cycas species, instead of being covered with fruit or something like that. I'd go out and find some pollen somewhere. It sounds like you would have fun watching it all happen.
