: I'd like to know what cycad species
: are good for container culture. The
: deep root system of many species
: seems to be a challenge. Do people
: pot up from a 4x4x14 tree pot
: directly into a 15g pot? Thanks!

As nyc said, just about ALL cycads can be grown well in containers. ALL of my 30,000 cycads of somewhere around 200 species are in containers. The larger ones need larger containers and the smaller ones can stay in smaller containers. There are so many to list, but if you want to stick with the best, zamias for the most part are the smallest cycads, then certaozamias would be good. Bowenias do better in wide containers. The rest can be good too, but it really depends on how much room you have for some of these other cycads.
