If you have a female cone that is that old, it was pollinated around June of last season. If you are seeing 1 inch round orange balls (seeds) in the basket looking cone, then you already have seeds, so you don't need a male cone. If you look in my article section in my website (which is linked in the header)I have articles on both pollination if you are asking about that, and if you do have good seeds, I have a couple of germination articles that will tell you everything you need to know. These seeds would be ready to plant, next June.
