This can be a few things. The sap can come out if you are having a lot of rain at that time. If you are not having a lot of rain and it is oozing out, you may have a more serious problem. Aborting leaves can be as simple as not enough water when the new leaves are coming out. It can also be a deficiency of minor elements. I have an article and a product that takes care of that. This too can be seen in my website that is linked in the header of this forum. The worst possible thing is that the plant is damaged. The oozing can be from damage or an apex going bad. If you had some rotten roots, then your leaves might abort even if you are getting plenty of water, or rain. Anyway, these are all the possibilities. I can't tell you what IS happening without being there, but maybe do some checking to see what might be the case.
