I just bought 2 sago palms from Home Depot today. I know nothing about them. They are potted in a 5 gallon pot and one the root ball appears to be almost out of the dirt. I don't know about watering, sun or shade or transplanting or when or when not too and how to do it. Can anyont give me some basic information so I take proper care of these beautiful plants. Thank You

: My Saga, about 30 yrs old, has two
: heads. Should I leave it like that .
: The two heads seem to be fighting
: for space on the plant. The palm
: leaves get bent from interacting
:
: Your sago (Cycas revoluta) must have
: produced a male cone a couple of
: years back because they sometimes
: branch after coning. You could
: possibly kill the whole plant by
: damaging one of the heads. As each
: branch gets longer, the stems will
: look better and be farther apart.
: What I tell people to do is to
: remove some of the interior leaves
: that are fighting each other until
: enough space is produced.
