: Barry,
:
: Where are you located, what species
: of encephalartos do you have and how
: big is it.
: Generally speaking a green house is
: equal to about 70-90% shade.
:
: Depends on where you are it may
: take months to aclimate a green
: house plant to outside. If the
: plant is still in a pot I would
: bring it to a shady spot and water
: it once a week. If the plant has 3+
: inch caudex it should be fine, any
: smaller than that and it may have
: expended its energy trying to flush.
:
: It is always a good idea to mark
: the plants at the greenhouse with a
: piece of tape to indicate
: orientation so the plant can remain
: with similar orientation when you
: get home.
:
: Hope all works out well

: I purchased the species from a
: greenhouse and didn't acclimate it
: into full sun appropriately. The
: mature leaves browned. I left them
: and cut them off three weeks ago
: when the new emerging leaves were
: two inches in length. I gather that
: the old burned leaves afforded the
: new ones protection as ywo days
: after removing them the new leaves
: burned to a crisp. What should I do
: now?
