Saga palm watering

I planted my 1 gallon saga palm in a 5-gallon ceramic container. I live in Santa Clarita, California and so far the plant looks great. I have the pot sitting in a planter on top of soil so it doesn't draw heat up from the concrete. My question is will it take full sun in our dry heat of my area.
