Hey Tom,
I have a few revolutas that have been grown as bonsai. They are in a well drained mix of sharp sand, decomposed pine bark and Turface (expanded montmorillonite clay). I balance it with applications of Osmocote w/ minors and your mix. I may have, however, exposed the plants to excessive levels of malithion. The leaves are dark green, with uniform "rust" colored blotches running along the individual leaflets. They are in a pattern, radiating from the rachis to the tips, terminating into a necrotic point. I have even brought a plant to a plant pathologist, who was baffeled. As a pathology major myself, i am pretty sure the spots do not resemble a pathogen. The plants are all in flush now, but they havent fully developed, so I cannot tell if the spots will come into the next flush. What are your thoughts, Tom? I am lost! Thanks.
