: Hi!
:
: During winter i took my Cycas
: panzhihuaensis seedlings inside, but
: the air was so dry the leaves
: started turning brown. (Atleast
: thats what i think) i moved them
: outside on my balcony as close to a
: the south wall as possible, and the
: leaves continued turning brown and
: crispy. Now none of them have leaves
: left. What are the chances for my
: plants to start producing leaves
: again?
: Do you think I could use the
: remaining (1 inch circumference)
: stems in the way your article
: "Never Throw Away a Cycad"
: describes or are they to small??
: The leaveless plants are currently
: under a high power sodium light
: inside, but not showing any signs of
: growth yet.
:
: I'm really worried about my little
: babies :(
:
: Thanks in advance for any advice.

This happens all the time to people up north who bring in their plants and keep them too dry. You should be able to fertilize the plants and they will pop out new leaves in another month or so. Unless something really bad has happened to these plants in particular, this is a common problem and is probably nothing at all to worry about. Hard core cycad people always realize that as long as the tsem is hard, you still have a plant. Leaves burn for many reasons and is not the end of the world, you just hate to see your babies look like that.
