You can read my article on the scale in my linked website. The scale has been moved all over Florida already, and is now in just about every warm state in the US. It first came into Miami, but from there one place at a time, it got down to Costa Rica, New Zealand, Hawaii and it is even destroying two natural populations of cycas, in Guam and in Taiwan, and all because people imported sagos and planted them close to where these natural populations happen to be. from what I know, this scale doesn't get on palms, just cycads, and primarily on the genus cycas.
