Great Cranberry Island - The 5th Annual Mud Mile will be held on Saturday August 1 at precisely low tide at 1:53 PM. This run was featured in the 2008 Road Runners Club of America annual calendar and has received nationwide attention as a result. There is no entry fee however participants are encouraged to bring food and drink to share after the run -- donations for provided beverages are greatly appreciated. The run is held in the clam flats located 2 miles down the main road from the town dock. See boat schedules at the link below.

Awesome event! Lots of fun. Great people. Great weather. Beautiful location. Can't wait til next year. Thanks for the hospitality, Gary, Mary, Mark, Philipe, and all those whose names I forgot.

while some were 'pounding the pavement' down in portland...a quite a few were 'murdering the mudflats' out on Great Cranberry Island. if a pic is really worth a thousand words...these gotta be worth a few billion...enjoy, CAW! CROW NATION......Judging by the photos, it looked like a fantastic day on "The Island"....Few ??????: did any runners bolt from the gun & try to lose the group? Noticed no chalk lines on the course...was it CERTIFIED?? yea Bob...all certifiable here! My son Patrick took it out hard for lap 1. I took it for the next 2-3/4 laps before being passed on the final turn by a young gun from Philly. Believe my wife & I will take the time & hit this wild event & escape the Sarasota heat in 2010....Not sure if i should train for this event by doing 20x400 or 32 mile runs!!! FREE beer or b.y.o.b ?? I suggest filling two buckets with 8 inches of wet cement, inserting a foot in each and then running repeat 400s uphill (into the wind), you'll be all set.....
