Just placing out a call to Crows and friends. What have you got for marathons plans in 2009. My plans for the early part of the year. Jan 18 Houston Texas Feb 1 Mardi Gras New Orleans Pacing 3:30 March 1 Tampa Gasparilla Pacing 3:20 April 20 Boston May 9 Fargo Pacing 3:20 May 17 Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf, Pineland 50K, GCI 50K, 24 hrs Around the Lake, (Wakefield, MA), Portland, OR, Bizz-Johnson Trail (CA), then MDI (of course)... and probably one or two others tucked in there somewhere. See you at the 'Loaf. "Maine-iac"

I suppose I'll do Pineland 50k again, I ought to be better now that I know it. The GCI 50k and then I'll try to qualify for Boston at the Maine Marathon, and If I have anything left I'll try to actually run MDI this year

Looks like the Pineland, GCI Ultra and MDI are unanimous. I would like to do all of these as well. Dave I also am interested in the Wakefield 24 hour. I ran 40 miles in 2006. Wakefield will happen IF Cranberry Island Ultra DOESN'T conflict, (Gary, hint, hint...) I think I'm setting my sights on the goal of 50M, (or perhaps even 100K) but we'll see how the body feels. Like Ned, I'd like to set my sights on BQ this year, but.... (goals are GOOD) "Maine-iac"

when is wakefield.. I can take hints very well! Good goals all. Ned you can qualify just need to run smart. yes indeed goals are good...me just keep running tough in 2009..Not that I ever look too far ahead but 2010 will be a big test for me when I try and crack 3 for my 5th consecutive decade..Needless to say the birthday parties aren't helping one bit. Gary, The date for Wakefield is 7/24/09 (Friday/Sat)... see the link... (also the Full Moon that you usually plan for GCI Ultra is 7/7/09 -or- 8/5/09) "Maine-iac"

Hey Roger, thats an impressive schedule. I plan to run the Gasparilla Marathon in Tampa as well. I'll run the 15K and 5K the day before and may even start the marathon with the 3:20 pace group. I'm registered for Boston with a 3:02 qualifer and I may also try to do Sugarloaf this year. Dave Excellent to hear from you as the reigning GCI Ultra Champion. You've got your work cut out for you this year. I hear Joe Dunton and Roger Marquis are coimng back with a vengance. If I happen to sign up for Boston in time we'll probably have the same corral. My qualifier was 3:05 at Sugarloaf. Are you going to Tampa specifically for the marathon? Have you found a place to stay yet. I'm not sure where our pace group is staying. We're usually at a hotel that is part of the marathon. If your on your own you could probably crash with me and save a few bucks. I think I am going to fly out of Portland for Tampa. I'm hoping I get bumped from a Houston or New Orleans flight so that I can use a comp pass for either Tampa or Fargo North Dakota. How many states have you completed marathons? I'm at 14 but not really trying for more because I want to run more marathons in the states I've already run. See you on the road. Hey Roger. I'd like to race you and Joe in the CGI Ultra this year but I'm also considering the Vermont 100 miler. Perhaps they won't conflict and I can squeeze both in. I usually stay with my folks in Clearwater when I run Tampa, but if there's an opportunity to crash closer to the start line on Saturday night I might be interested in your offer. I'll have a vehicle if you need a ride to and from the airport. I've only run 12 states so far and although I'd like to run more there are a few states that I like and keep going back to (Maine, Mass, Florida). I also have 4 of the 10 provinces to run.
