Bob funny how things work but we'll finally get to meet in FL of all places. Yes, Yonkers has the history and has the ball buster course to make you pay attention. I wish more runners would get the flat, fast, downhill, qualifying thing out of the minds and not be so afraid to be royally tested. Yonkers generally kicked my ass and I loved every second of how horrible I felt... as I've been saying for awhile, 'marathon and easy don't belong in the same sentence' see you on sunday g --Previous Message-- : G...Nice note on Yonkers....In the '64 Olympic : Marathon Trials, John J. Kelly was : attempting his 3rd straight ('56 & '60), : where only the winner was selected (the : other 2 from the Culver City Trials in : California)(Billy Mills & Pete : McCardle)....@ any rate, it must have been : 98.6 degrees w/ a humudity factor as : high...Buddy Edelen won by 20-+ minutes @ : Yonkers that year & Kelly was : 2nd......SEE U in Sarasota.....B : : --Previous Message-- : a met this guy (click below) when he passed : me : at about mile 30 of the 2005 Knickerbocker : 60K and again when we ran about 10 miles : together at the Yonkers Marathon in 2006. He : is a nice guy and I hope he cracks 2:30 at : Napa. He invited me to come stay with him in : Yonkers especially after I told him I slept : for 2 hours in the back of my truck before : the race. : : Knickerbocker 60K : : 1.
