I would love to run Boston on New Year's Day! However, I have a very large family 9 brothers and sisters and my wife has 8 brothers and sisters through in about 40 nieces and nephews and we usually have some sort of get together on all holidays. One good thing about such a large family is we do have some potential Crows. List below! Family Runs 2007 Jodie Half Marathon Gina 2 Half Marathons and 15K (Marathon 2005 and and NYC Marathon 2008 Gaurantee) Jessica Half Marathon Hannah 15K Steve Marathon Marine Corp Tim 3 Marathons...Boston, Lincoln Nebraska and Marine Corp Don half marathon 2005 and NYC Marathon 2008 Gaurantee Amanda 1/2 marathon and full marathon 2005 as Batwoman Roger 15 Marathons and hopefully a couple more Got your note about Tim and I'll let him know you got his message. --Previous Message-- : any chance to lure you down to MA on 1-1? Fun : you met a true legend like John J! We got a : phone message from bro Tim M about becoming : a Crow and Yes there is a hitch with online : reg, we'll fix it ASAP or have him mail in : this: : : http://crowrunning.com/offline_app_crow.pdf : : Either way it will be a honor to have : another Marquis on the long black train : : --Previous Message-- : I met John J Kelley at his running store : "Kelly's Place" in Mystic : Connecticut fall of 2006 prior to the last : Mystic Marathon. It was cool to meet him. I : did not know that he had a store and only : stopped in while the wife was hitting all : the other stores. I told him that I ran the : Breakers Marathon in Rhode Island that day : and was going to run the Mystic Places : Marathon the following day. He signed and : gave me a book written by Jock Semple and : himself "Just Call Me Jock". Very : nice guy! : : --Previous Message-- : I have been passing the word around about : the : 4th annual New Years Boston Marathon....got : this fun response from the 1968 winner of : the Boston Marathon....any takers?? (this : sounds like a classic Roger Marquis double : to me) Note: for those of you who don't know : who John J Kelly is, take a look at 1957 : : : http://bostonmarathon.org/BostonMarathon/PastChampions.asp : he was the first and only member of the : host club [BAA] to win while ending a long : string of foreign dominance at Boston. : : : : Thanks for the invite. And you are invited : to our annual Run/Swim at 1 pm the same : day in Mystic CT. You could run Boston, : finish around 10 am or so, jump in your car, : and make Mystic by noon. I'll have a warm : house for you. : : We jog 12 min pace from John J. Kelley's : house to Long Island Sound, plunge in, : run back at a warming pace. : : Been doing this for 40 years.
