G, Just reading the latest Marathon and Beyond, (Nov/Dec.); In the initial editorial "Run Under Control" the author, (pg. 10) refers to those..."physiological freaks. We know of one fellow from Maine who is closing in on his 50th sub-three-hour marathon. Nice accomplishment..." but then the author goes on to mention Doug Kurtis, who in his career ran 76 sub-2:20 marathons. Now THERE is the NEXT goal for you!!! I didn't think that you were a "freak". but I want to be a freak! I work very hard everyday to be a freaking freak!...laugh! and I love all my friends who are right there with me! Cheers to us all! Speaking of press. My minor accomplishments are fun. I even made this list http://www.sub3marathoner.com/records.html Wow, I even top out a few of the way sick categories! But with all due respect look at what some of these guys have done or are doing! G, Way to GO FREAK! Just having fun is what it IS all about. If not, what are we doing it for?? No, I didn't make Page 6 while down in the city, but if you check out the latest issue of Runner's World, and go to the 'Heroes' section, you'll see our very own Islesford-DC-Seattle based friend and sometimes Crow, Mr. Simon Isaacs with the rest of the Blue Planet runners! Caw! Caw! Caw! PS - Props to Gary once again for all his sub 3's! Here's to many more to come!

I found the bit on Simon as I was drooling over an article on Ryan Hall -- he's so cute! (He even smiled at me after the trials, before the press conference at Tavern on the Green... ahhhh, what a dream boat! Laugh!) No Olsen / Armstrong sightings, which is probably in Lance's best interest as I would slap him around if I saw him. I'm sure I'm not the only one who lost a little respect for him when that news broke. I didn't realize that his daughters were twins -- he must know what he likes! (I'm laughing to myself recalling Larry's comments after NYC 26.2, however, they are NOT appropriate for this message board -- Gary knows though. The rest can use their most colorful imaginations! Laugh!) The different layers of NYC are so interesting. One word to describe Harlem is Flava'. I was in SoHo the other day, which was just insane with shoppers, and I got down to Columbus Circle / Larry's old neighborhood yesterday -- that's NYC in my mind. I was so happy to go to Whole Foods and get some veggies! Best of all, I was hankering for potato leek soup like nobody's business, and low and behold, they had a steaming vat of it there. Cha-ching! Home soon, can't wait! (32 hours and counting.) I think I miss my cat (Betty) more than anything! (I miss her brother too [Chester], he disapeared four weeks ago today. I hate to think how he met his fate...) Wow, way to end on a downer... Hope everyone back in the great state of Maine (and beyond) is well. Happy (early) Thanksgiving! Caw! Caw! Caw!
