I can't believe I did it...I can now not only talk the talk I can walk the walk! Couldn't have picked a better marathon to do my first...the day was perfect, the people amazing. I just want to thank a few people who helped me make this happen (I know, this is not the Oscars... but it must feel this way when one gets one :) I can't believe what a high this is naturally... I'm hooked...). I'd like to thank buddy who had the perfect guest speaker... Joni was radiant...and now I know why... I'd like to thank the little apple girl on the route ( a must have for me for my next marathon)...Hallowe'en boy who really did make a difference...and his mom with the oranges...marathoners who took the time to smile and say keep on keeping on...the horn honking on the road... and accordion man, that was fantastic:)...perfect way to break the news that there were more hills to climb, but it would soon be over... so many new friends... but Tracey #83, who took my tears for tears of joy and pumped it up ...gave me no choice but to follow...and my good ole friend Betty #300 who truly believed in me to the core. Had a wonderful swim in the Bar Harbor waters and supper that night was too much fun..that Little Rock team was a riot. Disappointments hardly worth mentioning...but to put a port a potty by my "Group of Seven tree" on the route (you know, the Run Home tree:)... too beautiful a view... could it have just been moved up a little...and the massage people left after 7 1/2 hrs...I know they work hard but man, it would have been nice...I would have paid full price...just an incentive to fix that and pump it up next time:) From beginning to end, the organizers, the shirts, the route, I've run out of superlatives... A JOY TO BEHOLD...your efforts were truly appreciated...working on getting in shape for next year! I'm spreading the word. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to go on like this...BRAVO...ENCORE! Wendy and the Oscar goes to.....I happen to love those acceptance speeches and yours is letter perfect! I addressed one of the issues in my reply further down in a post (subject: porta potty pine) by another runner. I will work on the Maine sports massage team and do my very best to extend their stay next year. Enjoy your trophy (medal) and the memories that go with it.
