MDI Medal on Fred Lebow statue

I was watching the NYC Marathon on the local NY NBC station and as they cut out for a break they had a shot of the Fred Lebow statue. I could swear that there was an MDI Marathon medal around his neck. I DVR'd it and paused it to see if I could get a better look, but it was blurry. Don't have HD yet! I know Gary was there and maybe he put it there? I've seen pictures of the statue with medals from other years.
