Bob: You may have a better memory than I do. But, yes, I remember a 12 miles, 55 yards effort for Hour Run, wherein I basically tied with John Vitale. Just don't remember what year it was. I thought I had an outside chance at the third spot in the Marathon Trials 76--we all knew Frank and Bill would go 1-2--and I ran smart through 10 miles with the second pack. But then I started coming unglued and Kardong and Sandoval accelerated from way back. Was an exciting day in Eugene. Thanks for asking. In 1972, I didn't qualify for Trials; had a bad year.
