Hi All
I spoke to Dana Moser who is the director of Camp CaPella by phone, just wanted to share part of our conversation with you all. First off he wanted to thank everyone involved with this run, from our club to the online giving system we helped to set up and of course Roger and Hogans amazing efforts.
Mostly he wanted to tell me about Camp CaPella. He said it takes only $250 a week to send a kid to camp. Recently a mother who has two handicapped children called him in tears and said she wasn't going to be able to send her kids to camp because she couldn't come up with the funds. Mr Moser told her to just send what she could, even $5 dollars and that no child has ever been turned away because of an inability to pay. To make a long story short the funds we are helping to raise go beyond important please keep in mind how far a single dollar goes and that just $250 equals a week for a kid with disabilities to attend Camp CaPella.
I'd like to also challenge corporate donors who may read this to give generously and to challenge other businesses to match or exceed what they give.
Here is the URL again to make online donations: http://www.active.com/donate/campcapella
Thanks
gary
