Over the past couple of years we've had great support from Crow Athletics, for the Torch Run Special Olympics of Maine. This is Special Olympics largest fund raiser of the year, but it's also great to have support in numbers (running numbers).
Would you be willing to post the Torch Run on your calendar, we'd like to have as many runners as possible. I realize it's a real bad time of day for the run, but it's a lot of fun!
We'll be leaving the Bar Harbor town pier at 7:00am on May June 5th (Friday) and running to Key Bank, on High Street in Ellsworth. Some runners in the past have chosen to run all the way to Orono, for the opening ceremonies. This is a very relaxed run. Food is provided at Key Bank, and along the run. We'll also be escorted by police, an ambulance, and a bus for those who'd like to ride. I'm not asking that you run the entire distance, even if you can only run 200 yards it would be great to see you!
We're also getting our team together for the MDI marathon, it seems like more Officers are getting into running!
