From last night's Organizing Committee meeting:
If you or anyone you know plans to enter the 2009 Boston Marathon but hasn't yet because of the mid-February deadline, do not delay.
Entries are up over 18,000 as of yesterday, Jan 7, and the 25,000 entry limit is likely to be reached before February 1. Entries have been ahead of prior years since registration opened.
And, most charities which have time waiver entry available for raising money are also now full
Once the entry is full, all entry info will be removed from the website and entries will immediately be returned. There will be no appeal process, so take care of business.
The BAA is also looking at some new running events for the Sunday before the race, and the "Freedom Run" fun run will be eliminated (it was not held in '08 as the Olympic Trials race took over that time block).
