Our race coordinator Mary Ropp stopped the vehicle driven by about an 80 year old man (how on earth he got that far is beyond any of us) just about as his front tires almost touched the timing mats. It was a very old time Mainer who said, 'ayh, I'm jus going to Manset deah'(a town just past SWH)in his thick downeast accent. This could (stress on COULD) have been a much bigger problem thank goodness no one got hurt. Another potential chapter in the book,(Marathon, before you reach to the starting line, what really goes on behind the scenes) we actually have toyed with the idea of writing something with a variation of the title above. I do think it would be a good read if all of you knew what happens on behind the scenes to bring a marathon from, 'its a pretty good idea' to actually happening. Some if it is funny as hell and some is so bizarre you wouldn't believe it could possibly be true. Best Regards gary --Previous Message--
