Just a note to thank you and the tremendous organization behind the 2007 MDI marathon. Like many others I have read here this was my first time in a marathon walking or running so I had no idea what to expect and unlike my daughter and son-in-law I was a little apprehensive. I am used to waking but not with five or six hundred people. Needless to say I got over it after the cap gun start. The scenery and friendly people both spectators and organizers made the day. I got so caught up in the winding roads, the beautiful homes and estates, the small towns and towns-people who stopped what they were doing to coach and coax us on, the walk along the water, that I missed one or two distance markers so that was exciting. The whole route was amazing and so was the experience. Start to finish. My blisters from the walk and sore neck from craning to see everything all at once were worth every minute of it. I will definitely be entering again next year. Maine has always had a great reputation for wonderful, friendly people and your Bar Harbor marathon exemplifies it. Again thank you!
