Dakota Moyers has recently accepted the position as Team Purebred’s Director of Junior Activities. Dakota grew up in Newcastle, Oklahoma, where he and his family raised and showed purebred swine across the country. He earned an associate’s degree from Connors State College before transferring to Texas A&M University to earn a bachelor’s degree in animal science. While Dakota was at Connors State and Texas A&M he judged on the livestock judging teams. After he finished judging at Texas A&M, he served as the assistant judging coach. Upon completion of his degree in 2016, Dakota accepted a position as the Kerr County 4-H & Youth Development Agent with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Dakota says, “I am very thankful and excited for the opportunity to work with every junior member and their families. The purebred swine industry and working with youth is near and dear to my heart and I take great pride in doing everything I can to help those around me achieve their goals—whatever they may be. If I can assist you or your family in any way do not hesitate to give me a call. Once again, a huge Thank You goes to the Team Purebred Adult Board, CPS, and ABA for this opportunity. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and working alongside of you to achieve our goals at Team Purebred.”
Team Purebred Adult Advisory Board President Shane Butcher states, “On behalf of the Adult Advisory Board, I would like to welcome Dakota to our organization. We look forward to working with him and taking Team Purebred to new heights. I would also like to thank the staff of both the American Berkshire Association (ABA) and Certified Pedigreed Swine (CPS) for their invaluable help over the past few months. We greatly appreciate all of the support they have shown.”
