I can hardly believe no responses. I thought would be tons. Guess no one wants to offend anyone by not picking their boar. I'm assuming you were asking in regard to any of CPS breeds. The best boar out there won't be determined this year but only down the road from the traits he left behind. I'm as anxious as anyone to see which one surfaces.
I'll be first to admit I know nothing about Herefords and they still got miles to go to become competitive on the multi breed stage. That said you got to take your hat off to some of the boars in that breed who have burst on the scene virtually out of nowhere and from an extremely small genetic base. How many of you ever thought you see a Hereford boar sell for 50K?
In the end the best boar out in 2017 won't be based on his auction price. He may have been no sale. It may depend more on the females he gets a chance on.
