Greetings from a cold and WET Western Illinois! Who ever would have thought that at this time of the year, that we would not have even STARTED the harvest process? Here we are, ready to take two Polands to Louisville next week, and we have not one kernal combined yet!!!! FRUSTRATION!!!
Anyway, we have four Berkshire showpigs for sale. Our foundation sow, the 2007 NBS champion gilt from Brice Conover had a good litter, and we have taken out the two boar prospects-- yes, the Musicks plan on showing boars in Texas! Well, BerkDAD will show boars, I dont know what PolandMom will be doing- I usually dont show boars. Showing Poland boars as a kid kind of took away my taste for boar shows!
The pigs were farrowed on August 22, and are sired by Thunderstruck. They are wide made, and just BEAUTIFUL! There is a barrow hog for sale that I wish we had had this summer!!( isnt that always the way it works!?) The two gilts are really coming on as well, but we have had them bled, and they are carriers, which is why they wont be going to Texas. If any of these pigs can help you guys in the SW out, let us know. We will be traveling to the NAILE next week, and look forward to seeing you all there. Bringing a Poland gilt and barrow for the kids, you cant miss us, we'll be the ones with the two redheads, and the poland hogs that are acting psychotic!!!
