Greetings from Western Illinois! A BEAUTIFUL day here- FINALLY!
I totally agree with the above post. If there is anything that TP have strived to do since its inception, it is to make this a fun, family event. It is wonderful to have good hogs to bring, but there can only be one first place in every class. We have only done this one time, but we keep coming back, great ones or not, because we love it. Loving this is what keeps you coming back when your hogs arent as good as you wish they were, or when the weather is 1000 degrees in the shade! My daughter has been showing at this show, since before it was TP, when in was in Indiana. She was 5, and made a couple of friends that year- I still have the group picture. She is 13 now, and though she has made some new buddies along the way, she still runs with those same two gals that she met back at Greencastle Indian when she was 5! I encourage everyone with kids in these breeds, to try to make it here next year- your kids will thank you for it. I continue to with that I had had something like this back in the "old days" when I was showing!
See everyone at the State Fair- believe it or not, it is only 6 weeks away!
Thanks
Erin
