Yet Tayen didn't go anywhere as she missed, or as Cortana swiped her, simply stretched herself further to grab for Cortana's throat a second time, this time too close to fail. The wolf's dull claws swiped the white of her eyes and off the corner of it, causing her to shut it reflexively and readjust to glancing only out of one eye until the pain and blearing subsided.
