Cortana hadn't really expected Tayen to talk or entertain any kind of pre-battle conversation, and so the suddeness of the black wolf's actions were far from a surprise. At the fem's launch, Cortana did a strange thing. She did not move back or to the side to dodge, but instead gave a small jump, barely clearing the other wolf, rolling in the air above her and landing neatly behind her, adjacent to Tayen's body. The bite had not grabbed and the slashed only grave the skin on her forearm, causing nothing but a slight burning sensation along a minor scratch. A smile plastered itself on the white and pink wolf's face as she started to make a counter-clockwise circle around Tayen, deep pink eyes fixed on the wolf. Her pink paws moveved at a fast walk, staying five or so feet away from the other. She would wait.
