The invisibility wore off as she crossed the borders of her pack lands high above the fields. Chosing a spot in the center of the territory, the wolfess landed, taking no time to hesitate. Her energy was draining quickly and she needed to make this happen. The moment her feet were on the ground, the swap blessing was used and she was no longer there. Instead, a very different she-wolf was in her place.

The wolfess could barely see anymore, everything turning to a hazy mix as she flew back over her borders for what seemed like the hundreth time this day. As for energy, there was only the bit of adreneline that kept her wings going, and that was fading fast. Indeed, Cortana's altitude was beginning to drop rapidly by now, uncontrolable.
The wings couldn't sustain her any longer, beats becoming random and sparratic. The wind screamed in the wolf's ears as she started to plummet, holding her paws out helplessly to help protect her body from the imminent impact. She hit, shoulder folding under her and skidding across the field a ways. It left a streak in the flowers that trailed to where her body lay now, limp except for the scattered breaths.
She was so tired, so completely drained that she couldn't even open her eyes. Hopefully she'd get to see those flowers again. Hopefully someone would not steal her life in her one moment of complete weakness. The chances we take define who we are...
