Katannah did not know how this would turn out. She had second thoughts about it the moment she'd suggested it to Lestat. They had never seen eye to eye...and may never will. But Katannah had made this promise to the golden collie and intended to carry it out. She'd also want to inform his dragons of some important matter either before they carry her off the mountain or before they leave her to be consumed by the death. Something she should have said aloud long ago. Katannah had not seen any of her children since the mountain meeting and was fine now with not seeing them. She'd accepted her fate in their lives to be limited to memories...positive or negative a memory is a memory that keeps a being alive when death consumes them. Katannah thought it to be most powerful legacy she could leave. She walked just across the borders..."we will end this quarrel today." she said aloud but to herself. All the flowers had been burned..."oh that's why it was called coral flower..." she laughed to herself. maybe she would live start a life without this memory a life where her pups don't exsit and she'd never have to lay claims to them because they all hate her...and they would never look to find her if she did live. She knew more powerful creatures inhabited this place than she and she had to find a way to compete...maybe dissappearing after the volcano was a good way to rethink her approach to Wolf Mountain...in a way that empowers her.
Well that was a lot of thought...she had a lot to consider before that last paw hit the ground. Surely there was nothing else to matter. Her jewel would live even if he didn't kill his uncle. She knew that Kash wouldn't punish the pup for what Katannah had told him to do. She knew that Kash would even take the pup and raise him to be "decent" the word made her cringe...she prayed that he would remain evil even with good influences that Jadden would remain the dark jewel he was born to be...and someday he could remind his younger sister of her makings...however corrupt they were. But none of that mattered as much as becoming member of this pack before the volcanoes end.
