Lizard's blue eyes were bulging with horror. What had happened to the pack lands? The smoke hurt his throat, and the tiger became depressed to see the ashy remains even though it was only a small area.

"Tayen?" he whimpered. He trotted through the ashes, dreading to find a burnt corpse within the black soot. This tiger was an apple green this winter, usually his coat was a paler green when there was no need for thick fur. Quietly, Lizard's trembling paws had searched the entire area that was burned, but there was nothing to be found. Hopefully the fire was not as bad as to burn a body completely to dust. Still, the fire had happened and Lizard was afraid. He made worried roars for the alpha, unaware he would not see Tayen for a long time.
