Luckily, Tayen hadn't torn the tendon, but instead left a large rip in the skin. Blood spidered out onto her snow fur slowly, dripping a bit on the frozen ground. It wasn't flowing blood, so it was to be ignored for the moment. The wolfess was just glad she had not been disabled. She whipped her back end around to face Tayen squarely, shifting uncomfortably on her left hind quarter. The other fem may not have torn the tendon, but the bite and shifting holds had weakened and strained the muscle a bit.

Cortana stepped forward slowly, planning what to do next. Her pink eyes locked with the other's grey, a steely gaze thrust between the two wolves. Cortana's subconscious told her to better arm herself, to not rely on only her jaws for this fight. An ooze began seeping from the skin that surrounded her front claws, coating the nails with a harmful poison. She would let the other have the next move...
