The air was sweet and still warm despite the chilling winter that would hold the mountain for some months. It was December, yet here, in these fields, only a dusting of frost lay on the ground, sparkling on the flowers. Everything had a pastel hue because of the white dust, making it seem as if one was passing through a hazy dream world. Something about the aura made the wolfess happy as she walked through the flowers. Her dark pink eyes scanned about as she padded softly, careful not to disturb the flowers. They were too beautiful to die, or at least that is what she truly believed.
The wind rushed from the north as it did most winters, causing the Cortana's thick, mostly white fur to billow and wave. With the dark pink paws, tail tip, and stripes along her back and sides, she truly looked as if she belonged in a fairy tale. The fact that she was carrying a large orange egg in her mouth made her appearance even more outlandish. The femora continued on in her dainty way until she reached the center of the lands, the sun creeping up just over the hills in the distance. She loved the feel of this place, so mystic and soft, and it smelled stale.
She hadn't seen a soul since she entered the area, nor had she seen or smelled any living animal. Could it be that it had been abandoned? Cortana hoped so. The white wolfess didn't much feel like battling, but would if she needed to. She might not seem the type, but the ivorn fem bested most that crossed her path... no matter their alliance or attitude..
Cortana set the orange egg on the ground, taking a moment to cherish her soon to be son. She could feel the little dragon inside stirring, itching for his time of birth. Oh, what horrors would he put her through? She couldn't wait to be a mother! But that could wait for the moment. First, she needed to secure a home for baby and herself. Tipping her head back, Cortana let out a bold, silvery howl into the lands. If any should come, let it be their nightmare..
