WE all know half of the winter shows are put up to make the steer jocks look good for saleing those high dollar cattle

they are only high doller cus ppl are stupid enough to pay that much for one. i really dont think anyone should pay more than what they could get if they was to win their county fair. very few counties pay even close to 10k. in ohio thats close to what it takes to win ur class at a jackpot. that spend big win big thinking dont get ya verry far come summer.

before you post ignorant comments like this and the previous think about this.... do truck and tractor pullers get there money back out of there $20,000-$200,000 rigs? drag racers? dirt track cars? show cars? what about million dollar horses? the point is its a hobby and what hobby is there that actually makes you money, cattle shows are about winning, not about your profit margin. yeah there are good calves cheap but if someone wants to spend big money who cares! does it affect your life?

You are right it doesn't matter about the price but it does mater when it comes down to the shows being put up because the steer jock knows the jugde this week or thats where the cattle was raised just be fair and jugde the cattle not the groomer or the buyer

AMEN!!!!!!The race cars,tractors pulls,the dirt cars. If there spending that kinda money,there idiots too.PERIOD!!!!!!!! I can find alot of things to spend 10-20,000 on and it wont be something that has to die in a yr

What someone pays is their business, not anyone else's If they can afford it then good for them, there is always someone with more money that they know what to do with, that is why they get into livestock or other agriculture, Tax write off. It doesn't make them IDIOTS as you say, with statements like that you just sound jealous.

Yeah, you helped me understand why you and everyone else that spends that kind of money are idiots!! Ive had grand champion cattle but im not spending that kind of money on a STEER.

I don't spend that kind of money on cattle, We raise them for ourselves, but if someone has the money and wants to use it on this, then it is their own choice, not yours and certainly not mine. Personally, I enjoy raising my sons steer or heifer and seeing him do well with something from home.
