calf with some attitude Posted by ia on September 23, 2009, 8:06 pm 208.126.161.X I got a steer in about a month ago and he is just pissed all the time i heard that if you wash them it tames them down does anybody have any suggestions on how to tame him down? and we have a heifer with him and she is just tame as a dog you can go right up to her and put a halter on her idk if that helps or not but i would think it would help some HELP!!!  Post a Response

I have heard of people doing this but never actually tried it. Tie the calf to the donkey for about 4 days. Halter and tie both of them for every meal- takes some time, but well worth it in that he'll learn that you bring the good stuff and he only gets it once he's cooperated. If possible, spend time just hanging out with him- no stress or trying to touch/handle him, just sitting or standing in or near the pen. We do this with all of our calves and have a bunch of sweet puppy dogs every year!  Post a Response
