My kids have two steers this year which have required an unbelievable amount of time to get a handle on them. They tie easily and lead good. The kids have been working daily w/ touching them with the show stick, across the back, blunt end of the stick to the brisket and neck area. They just will not tolerate the stick or hands anywhere except on the top line - they get crazy. Any suggestions as to how to overcome these problems?

i had that probleam one time
we just tied the steer to something and had someone [in that case it was me] to pretend you were holding him and my dad would come up behind him and rub his hands on him. the steer tries to get away but he cant and thinks your the reason he cant move and be used to being touched.
hope it helps
