Keep him with the heifer- she'll help because her trust of you will be evident to him. Halter and tie both of them for every meal- takes some time, but well worth it in that he'll learn that you bring the good stuff and he only gets it once he's cooperated. If possible, spend time just hanging out with him- no stress or trying to touch/handle him, just sitting or standing in or near the pen. We do this with all of our calves and have a bunch of sweet puppy dogs every year!
