We've had some of the same problems, even had a bald eagle after calves earlier this calving season. Legally you can get a permit from US Fish and Wildlife to kill one of the black headed buzzards (which are the variety that kill calves, they are migratory birds so they are protected) and hang it on a fence. If you hang all the ones you kill either on a fence or in trees, the buzzards will go away. Watch out for the game warden if you don't have a permit and happy hunting.
