My niece just had one of these, ended up having to have an operation on the front leg at K-State. Treated with antibiotic, vet was having her try another round, but had already spread to the leg and she decided not to wait (good thing). If it has gone to the joint or leg I would have someone look at it with more knowledge than most local vets have, if you have a vet college near you I'd have them take a look at the calf.
