I agree with the others. I've had calves from each defect more than once (before it was known much about) and I'm not going to play the odds and breed any carriers to any carriers, no matter how great I think it could be if I get a live calf. Calving either of these defects is a huge, life changing nightmare for anyone with good animal husbandry sense and values. I still get a little shaken just thinking about the one that we took out in pieces that last calving season before the TH test was developed. I calved a couple for about 3 years in a row that really made me lose sleep at night for a while. Luckily only lost 3 cows to those ordeals.
