head strong heifer

We have a heifer that we are having trouble with. She leads fine, but when she gets it in her head to leave, she puts her head down and is gone. Our son is not strong enough to hold on every time, and she has gotten away from him. We have tried a few things, but she is still doing it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
