I've done my fair share of 'sludging' Jani Lane. The last eight times or so I've tried to seen Jani and/or warrant have been disasterous...to put it mildly. He was either too fcked up to play or cancelled last minute (because he was too fcked up). However, Jani and co were THE band to see this week-end at M3 in Maryland. He appeared fit and sober and rocked it out with a tight set and a tight band.
I've scaled back on my posts over the past year or so, but after his set, I said to Cathy that I need to post and give credit where credit is due. I don't want to go overboard because he basically showed up and did his job, but after the last several years of observing his intense behavior, it was great to (finally) see him doing what he does best...
