The same friend who so thoughtfully taped CS for me, when it was on cable, back in the early nineties, just sent me two, brand new, DVD episodes: "Journey To A Hanging" and "The Legend Of Judd Starr". I love the DVDs and I appreciate this most thoughtful and generous of gifts. However, I must say, that I am apalled at the pitiful, extremely POOR quality of the DVD production, including problems with the way these DVDs play. The picture is jerky and runs in sort a' slow motion, sometimes. CBS did a really crappy job. The show deserved/deserves much better. If they are going to charge such an outrageous price for these things, the quality should be there. I have seen bootleg DVDs, that were put together on someone's personal computer, that look a whole lot more professional and 'sharp'. The photos on the covers of these DVDs are of such poor quality, (so dark and distorted) you can't even see what is in them. I'd be emabarassed to peddle them for such a premium price. If you are going to sell the public such a poor quality product, I say, charge accordingly, i.e. a much lower price.
The DVDs were purchased from CustomFlix and they 'claim' to be produced by CBS, in association with Stuart Whitman, Inc.
I'm having a really hard time 'buying' that.
Anybody else have a similar experience?
Honestly, even I could have done the show more justice, with my Adobe photoshop program and DVD label maker. ...sigh
