Sterling performance last night from a relatively new shape COBFC team away to Old Hooky at San Walterbush Stadium. The new players seemed to blend in nicely alongside the old hands. The first half performance in particular gives revived encouragement with lots of chances been created, COBFC shaded the first half and should have gone in ahead a swift move down the right hand flank saw Capt. Scarlet slide the ball into the path of Neil Rowland whose fierce shot beat the keeper only to rebound back off the bar, Whacker Rooney's attempt ot pounce came to no avail as the Hooky defence quickly closed him down.
Second half changes saw the introduction of JD the old timer partnering Neil up front as target man. Debuts for Ian, Mark, Tim amd Carl proved to be successful as despite going behind to a somewhat fortuitis Hooky goal after several bouts of pin-ball on the edge of the box. COBFC levelled the game with a classy move down the right as Bungee latched onto a Capt. S through ball to square it into the box where Neil Rowland added the finishing touch. The game could've been secured for COBFC late in the second half albeit for a subperb save from Hooky's keeper after Carl Stevens had skillfully brought the ball down on his chest and vollyed goalwards. All in all a sound start to this years campaign Well Done Chaps!!!!!!!!!! In particular those old boys who turn up week after week and sometimes don't get a game, thank you.
