While admittedly not Chicago, some interesting news about a couple of Audacy AM's which would have required significant investment to get back on the air. Maybe with the bankruptcy they are finally looking at the hard decisions when it comes to their AM properties.

Once again surrendering AM licenses as feeding off an HD2/3/4 etc is cheaper in the short and long run. You will also see this scenario speeding up, along with AM Daytimer signals going dark. In the future you will see the graveyard signals and smaller low power stations toward the top of the band signing off, even more when not tethered to a translator.
Nostalgia sadness, but it is not economically feasibly to even run a 50K clear channel anymore unless costs are minimal, technology has forced this.
